My son Rocco's snack stash on his last trip: raisins, Buddy Fruits bites, Buddy Fruits pouch, crackers, Pirate's Booty, Fruit Snacks, m&ms, and Goldfish

Traveling with Kids? Be sure to pack plenty of snacks to keep tummies full and hands busy. Not to say our bags aren’t also packed with an iPad, LeapPad, toys, crayons, headphones, lovie blankets, and whatever else I can think of that can preoccupy my 3 year old for at least a minute. But snacks, especially those with many pieces, can be quite entertaining and just as much fun as all the other stuff. Plus, if they aren’t hungry, they aren’t as cranky. So load up those carry-ons (or their own backpacks) with the snacks…and just when you think you have enough, add another. Then hide them down in the bottom where the little stinker can’t find them. Then, when they start screaming in the middle of that 5 hour flight and have already played with every last toy, those snacks will be the perfect new distraction. It’s amazing how a little bag of m&ms can turn a frown upside down. It still works for me!
