Travel Tip: Fly on Wednesday, Tuesday or Saturday (in that order)
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could travel everyday? We all need to come home and recharge (and repack) at some point though. So, today’s travel tip? Fly on Wednesday, then Tuesday or Saturday (in that order) when airfares are typically cheapest. My last flight fell on a Tuesday and the fare was at it’s lowest and the airport was a ghost town. The perfect way to start any trip!
The Local House, Miami Beach
This weekend we headed out for brunch with friends as, well, what’s better on a Sunday morning? Only this time, even though we had the kiddos in tow, we wanted to try a new restaurant. So, we decided on The Local House on Miami Beach which was recently listed on the Eater Miami Heatmap: Where to Eat Brunch. A great choice: modern, beach house decor, relaxed setting with lounge areas outside and tables with couches inside, a diverse menu from eggs to salads to burgers to pasta, and a friendly staff. What more could you want? Well, maybe a couple more highchairs. They only had one. We had 3 kids. Guess that’s what we get showing up at a small, trendy spot on South Beach with tots? We made it work though and we’ll definitely be back. Maybe next time, minus the kids.
Travel Tip: Take A Shoe Bag Through Security
Next time you’re headed to the airport, throw a shoe bag in your carry-on so you can store your shoes in them when you go through the security line. This way your pretty shoes never have to touch those dirty bins. Need a shoe bag? Check out this great shoe dust bag with a separating seam which will keep each shoe from scratching the other and fun quote, “Life is Short. Buy the Shoes.” Find this and more shoe bags now at our e-boutique!

Travel Tip: Bring An Air Freshener For The Rental Car
You never know what you’re going to get with rental cars, so expect the worst and bring an air freshener. The last time I rented a car it reeked of cigarettes so much that people were questioning if I had a new habit when I arrived. Yuck. To avoid this, bring or buy an air freshener. Since it’s bad enough you’re driving around in a rental, don’t add to your embarrassment with a scented tree hanging from your mirror. Get one that is a little bit more discrete. We like the Refresh Your Car! vent sticks that slide right into the air conditioning vent. No one even notices them. Just make sure they are in a vent that’s not blowing directly on you or your new personal fragrance may be Alpine Meadow…which if strong enough could be worse than the cigarette smell to begin with.
